Italian Cooking Party for JAMM

Recently we hosted JAMM bloggers at APB Studio. It was a private cooking party for a few mommy bloggers. Wondering what is JAMM? It is the Journey about Mast Moms (JAMMs), an exclusive no-nonsense and a complete mom-sense support group for networking among Mumbai-based mothers. They provide support for Mumbai and Navi Mumbai based moms /moms-to-be /single moms for networking and to communicate + connect without any prejudices. This interactive group began in April 2014 and has been ably led by Ritu Gorai; an enthusiastic and dynamic mom who manages over 3000 ‘Jammies’ in 30+ WhatsApp groups & over 5700 moms in a secret Facebook group.

We had these lovely, fun women join us for an afternoon of Italian cooking and spicy conversations.

The class started off with a brief introduction of everyone. Each one of them shared their story about life, work, motherhood and most importantly food. Rushina, too talked about her story, how she began as a blogger, the opportunities it provided and where it has led her today.

Once everyone was acquainted, aprons were tied on and the cooking side of the party began. APB Cook Studio is equipped with 6 induction stoves which means everyone gets a chance to practice hands-on cooking. Soon enough, there were 6 moms happily kneading away at the counters, getting the dough ready for a colorful, moist focaccia.

Once the focaccia was baking on the side, Rushina demonstrated a simple but classic Italian pasta dish; the Aglio e olio perked up with the addition of the winter special green garlic. The aromas of the garlic frying in the olive oil had everyone back at their stations, eagerly creating their own pasta dishes.

Over a lovely meal of their own focaccia, spaghetti and a decadent tiramisu, the JAMM-ies as they call themselves, took a break, relaxed and indulged in quality ‘me’ time. And we were absolutely thrilled to have such fantastic women at our studio.
