Unveiling the APB Food Book Club

APB Food Book Club is the newest offering from APB Cook Studio. It is an annual membership based food book club, anyone can join. Conceptualized by Rushina owner of APB Cook Studio, the APB Food Book Club (#APBFBC for short) is for aficionados of food and cookbooks, cooking enthusiasts, book lovers, food lovers. #APBFoodBookClub aims to create a platform to bring together chefs, authors, food writers, publishers and food/cookbook lovers under one roof, to celebrate food and cookbooks.

The APB Food Book Club was launched by Chef Saransh Goila on November 6th, 2015 at APB Cook Studio.  Chef Saransh read and cooked up a few dishes from his book ‘India on My Platter’ Such as Pepper Ghee Roast Mushroom Canapés and Panch Phoran Pineapple Cheese Skewers. Chef Vicky Ratnani graced the event with his presence. Sharing his experiences about cooking for his all-vegetarian cookbook ‘Vicky Goes Veg’, he talked about the change of mindset he had to create in himself being a non-vegetarian to put together a vegetarian book.

Thai-Bhel

The event concluded with a tea party featuring dishes from Chef Saransh Goila’s book and a selection of treats made by the APB team. On the menu were Thai Bhel, Chocolate Thandai Biscotti, and Saffron Warqi Paratha with Javitri Kebabs.We were happy to have some very special friends join us, Chef Ranveer Brar, Chef Varun Inamdar, thank you for your support.

#APBFBC will organize regular monthly events in which members will get to meet authors and chefs and interact with other book and food lovers over delicious food. These events will feature everything from recipe based cookbooks to books of food travel, food memoir, could range from Cook-Along and Bake-Along, Book readings, Food Walk, Celebrity Chef Demo or something more even, depending on the author/book we are featuring.What can members look forward to?

On signing up, you immediately get a ‘Welcome pack’, with a membership no. a specially curated selection of the latest cookbooks or foodbooks handpicked by the Club panel and complimentary vouchers you can use to attend two book upcoming book club events valid for 6 months. Going forward, over the year members can avail attractive discounts on dedicated events for #ABFBC. Access to a Book Club Newsletter full of great food writing, sneak previews of new food books, discounts on books and events and lots more.

The APB Food Book events will be available to members and non-members. Please note that seats are limited to these events and will be allocated on first come first served basis. Here are details on upcoming events.

#APBFBC November event Celebrate Life, Food and Wine with Chef Varun Inamdar.

Chef Varun Inamdar will present delicious dessert recipes from his book ‘Celebrate Life, Food and Wine’. Members can then mingle over a lovely spread of teatime treats from his book. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Sunday 29th November 2015, 5:00pm-7:00pm

#APBFBC December eventUnveiling of a Grandmothers Legacy by Jenny Mallin.

Chef Ranveer Brar will do the honour of unveiling this beautiful self-published book by UK-based author Jenny Mallin who has documented the histories of 5 generations of her Anglo-Indian family into a beautiful, evocative memoir with recipes. Wednesday, 9th December 2015 4:00pm-6:00pm
